Fireguardia is at the intersection of materials science, tech innovation, safety resilience, and health. We strategically began with manufacturing operations in Guatemala. Not only because our Chief Engineer, Oscar Dominguez, is based out of Central America, where he oversees R&D, but because we knew operations in Guatemala presented us with many trade advantages.

Our patented, non-toxic, fireproof compound — outlined in U.S. Patent #12,071,581 — is the backbone of several core innovations in our advanced fire safety line, including engineered wood, intumescent coating, high-performance fire-resistant textiles, and our breakthrough Zone Dome suppression systems. As we expand our manufacturing operations in Guatemala, we are not only focused on cost-efficiency—we are charting a path toward long-term value.

We placed our manufacturing operations in Guatemala with intention. Guatemala, as a member of the Dominican Republic–Central America Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA-DR), offers a unique trade landscape that supports innovation, environmental responsibility, and economic efficiency.

Guatemala: A Manufacturing Partner with Strategic Promise

Guatemala’s participation in the CAFTA-DR free trade agreement gives Fireguardia a powerful advantage: the ability to efficiently manufacture advanced fire safety products and export tariff-free to the United States. This aligns directly with the environmental standards of our patent and allows us to reinvest in R&D and infrastructure while keeping our costs and prices competitive.

In response to shifts in U.S. trade policy from the White House, Luis Rolando Lara, director of the Guatemalan Banking Agency, has emphasized that Guatemala has so far fared well. “It is on the list of the least damaged,” he noted in a statement, highlighting the country’s ongoing stability and resilience in global trade.

By manufacturing in Guatemala, Fireguardia benefits from:

  1. Tariff-Free Access to U.S. Markets – Once our patented products are manufactured, these products qualify for tariff-free export to the U.S., which gives us a major competitive edge in pricing without compromising quality.

  2. Sustainable Ingredient Supply Chain – Fireguardia’s patented formulation relies on a precise combination of minerals, cellulose-based fibers, and other eco-friendly elements. The ability to viably source raw ingredients allows us to uphold the standards outlined in our patent, keeping our products clean, safe, and aligned with both U.S. and international green-building certifications.

  3. R&D Reinforcement – Lower operational costs from tariff relief allow us to reinvest in scientific development. This ensures ongoing innovation around the patented compound and its applications—especially within our Zone Dome product line, which requires tailored integration of our fireproofing formula and AI-backed technologies in a low-pressure automatic dispersal system.

  4. Closer to Home, Faster to Market – Guatemala’s proximity to the U.S. offers logistical benefits, reducing transportation time and cost. Combined with duty-free savings, we can deliver our life-saving systems more rapidly to consumers and commercial facilities across the United States.

Building the Future of Fire Protection

Free trade under CAFTA-DR isn’t just about maintaining efficiencies and costs. For Fireguardia, it’s enabling the introduction of the most effective and healthiest fire suppression solutions in the market at a rapid pace. It supports our ability to source our raw materials sustainably and scale manufacturing operations.

At Fireguardia, we’re not just building fireproof solutions—we’re building a future where science, safety, and health work together.
